Theresa is a financial advisor in Savant’s Rockford, IL headquarters. She has a membership interest in Savant.
Theresa is passionate about teaching and encouraging people to become active partners in their financial life. She teaches classes and seminars that focus on senior education, including tax issues, estate planning, preparing for life’s changing events, protecting yourself from financial abuse, and planning for lifelong care.
As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®), Theresa is knowledgeable in all areas of financial planning, including wealth transfer and philanthropy, proactive income and estate tax planning, retirement cash flow projections, retirement income optimization, insurance needs analyses, debt management, and education funding.
Theresa has been involved in the financial services industry since 1988. Prior to joining Savant, she spent 19 years with a local trust and investment group where she served as a vice president specializing in high-net-worth individuals and corporate retirement plans. She has experience in asset management, estate planning, corporate retirement plans, insurance, banking, and all aspects of the wealth management planning process.
Theresa is a founding member of Wise Women, an initiative that inspires, informs, and empowers women to pursue their best financial futures.
Theresa earned a bachelor of arts degree in business administration from the University of Iowa. She is a graduate of the College of Financial Planning and has received extensive training from Cannon Financial Institute’s Personal Trust and Employee Benefit Trust Schools.
Theresa and her husband John have two sons. She was born and raised in Rockford and enjoys volunteering, entertaining friends, outdoor activities, and spending time with her family. She enjoys vacationing in Northern Wisconsin and spending time on the lake. She also enjoys Florida’s gulf coast and looks forward to spending more time there, visiting family and friends. She loves dogs and hopes to train her new dog, Champ, to be a comfort, companion dog as he matures.
